Happy Summer, JMACers~

The sunniest season of the year is finally here! Er, I suppose Chicago’s weather hasn’t been the best as of late. Those summer storms outta chill… Nonetheless, I hope everyone is making the most of their summer, whether it is chilling out or finding ways to keep busy.

To those currently in the Chicagoland area, JMAC is hosting several outings before the new school year rolls around, and invites you (yes, you in the back too) to join in on some summertime fun!

The first summer outing involves going to the beach this coming Friday, June 26th! Meet up with Vice President Monisa in front of the Barnes & Noble on the DePaul Loop campus or encounter President Eric at the green “Baby Crusher” statue-guy in front of the Student Center on the Lincoln Park campus. Both Lincoln Park and Loop groups will meet at 12pm and leave as a group for Oak Street Beach at 12:30pm.

Check out the website for a list of upcoming JMAC summer outings as well as the Facebook event page for any developments (like weather updates and stuffs) as we storm Oak Street Beach!

Be sure to bring your sunscreen, towels, pail & shovel, inflatable beach balls and money to fill your Ventra card for this Friday’s outing~

Hello everyone,

As the spring quarter comes to the close, many “lasts” are upon us, including the Japanese Media Appreciation Club’s last event of the school year…

Some reminders:

This Sunday, June 7th, is the JMAC Banquet. Join us for delicious Vietnamese food and for general Sunday socialization at Pho 777 nearby the Argyle red line station. We will be meeting at the Bae Crusher (aka the Baby Crusher…otherwise known as the green statue in front of the student center) at 12pm, depart from DePaul together at 12:30pm, and arrive at Pho 777 at 1pm.

In case if you haven’t done so already, please RSVP on the Facebook event page ASAP so we know how many people to expect. Additionally, let us know if you have any food allergies prior to the event either through Facebook or through email!

But first, a huuuge thank you to all members who gave insightful feedback about the club at last week’s general meeting! Your comments will help next year’s board plan for JMAC events scattered throughout the summer (yes, summer events are in the works!) and for the coming school year~
