Hope you’re keeping warm as the temperature steadily drops, that is, if you’re still in Chicago. If you are sticking around the Chicagoland area, join JMAC for a couple of outings during the winter intercession~

A huge shoutout to everyone who attended the first general meeting of the school year, giving us helpful feedback and suggestions for improving the club. (Fret not, senpai has noticed you.)

Christkindlmarket: Wednesday, December 7th
Christkindlmarket is an outdoor Christmas market in Dailey Plaza in the heart of downtown Chicago!

Meet up in front of the DePaul Barnes & Noble on the loop campus on Wednesday, December 7th between 1-1:30pm. JMAC will leave at 1:30pm to head to the markets for warm food and holiday shopping!

Lincoln Park ZooLights: Friday, December 16th
Celebrate the winter holidays… with lights at the Lincoln Park Zoo!

Meet up at Brownstones in the Lincoln Park Student Center on Friday, December 16th between 5-5:30pm. JMAC will leave at 5:30pm and head to Lincoln Park Zoo to check out the spectacular Christmas lights display~

These slides feature one final hint about this year’s voice actor before the big reveal in January! :0 The slides also feature a manga that follows a hopelessly idealistic romantic throughout four stages of his life. And lastly, check out the music video (submitted by meeee) that features a singer-songwriter who’s been a vocalist since the age of 17.

A lot happened this week. History changing. But in personal news, I finally watched the viral pen-pineapple-apple-pen video. It changed me.

Next Week’s Meeting: Fall Quarter Week 10

With finals around the corner, it’s time for the last JMAC meeting of the quarter. This meeting will take place on Monday, November 14th from 4-9pm in room 314B of the Lincoln Park Student Center.

Join us at the start of the meeting for social hour from 4-5pm! Next week’s social hour will be a panel about kendama, a traditional Japanese toy similar to the classic cup-and-ball game.

In lieu of a weekly showing, JMAC will have a general meeting. Once per quarter, JMAC circles up to discuss the good and not-so-good parts of the club. This is also the time we take volunteers for social hours, suggestions weekly showings, and vote for next quarter’s running series. It’s an exciting meeting! (don’t miss it~)

After the general meeting, we’ll be finishing up the final episodes of our fall quarter running series From the New World.

Last Week’s Meeting: FQ Week 9

Check out this week’s powerpoint slides online via dropbox!!! In light of this week’s election, the slides are themed with anime student presidents.

The slides also feature a LEGIT SUPER HELPFUL hint about this year’s voice actor, a new manga for the month of November, and a music video animated by a well-known Japanese animation studio.

A Few Reminders

Geek Til Dawn is today! Hosted by DeFrag, this all-night-long lock-in is held at the College of Digital Media on the loop campus. Registration starts at 6pm for a night of geeking out! In honor of DeFrag’s mafia-themed event, JMAC will be screening mafia-themed anime all night long in the anime viewing room!

Next Week’s Meeting: JMAC Fall Quarter Week 9

The next meeting will be held on Monday, November 7th from 4-9pm in room 314B of the Lincoln Park Student Center. Join us at the start of the meeting for social hour, which will be improving anime through acting!

Join us for a screening of Angel Beats! This original anime follows Otonashi as he awakens into the afterlife. He meets Yuri, the leader of Shinda Sekai Sensen (Afterlife Battlefront), and helps her in a war against the mysterious girl Tenshi.

And finally, join us to watch more of our running series From the New World.
