JMAC WQ Week 3: Monday’s Mitsuwa Outing!

Greetings JMACers,

It’s Friday the 13th! Hope your evening is going swimmingly (or at the bare minimum, at least not unlucky). Best wishes during the last few hours of this superstitious day~

A Few Reminders

Attention last year’s Anime Central attendees: …remember the DePaul table? Last year, JMAC members staffed the table and spoke with ACen attendees about all that DePaul had to offer. To receive funding for this opportunity, we need your support! Please email JMAC (as soon as possible) with a brief blurb about why this table is beneficial to the university. We’d greatly appreciate it. :)

Years before the anime Yuri!!! on Ice, there was JMAC!!! on Ice (and Dim Sum)~ This outing is scheduled for Saturday, January 28th. We’ll meet up at Brownstones at 11:30am, head to the Millennium Park skating rink at 12, and head to Chinatown for dim sum at 4:30pm.

Next month, JMAC will welcome (DePaul alumna!) Erica Mendez to campus. She’s best known for her roles in Magi, Kill la Kill, Hunter x Hunter, and more! Save the date for this event on Saturday, February 11th.

Next Week’s Outing: Mitsuwa Marketplace

Since the university is officially closed in observance Martin Luther King Jr Day, there will be no JMAC meeting next week. Instead of a regularly scheduled meeting, JMAC will have an outing to Mitsuwa on Monday, January 16th. Mitsuwa is a marketplace that has authentic Japanese food, pastries, books and more!

Meet JMAC at Brownstones at 10:30am! We will leave at 11am —
And take the 74 Fullerton bus to California Ave. —
Then walk to the California blue line station —
Then take the blue line to Rosemont —
And catch the Pace 606 bus to Mitsuwa (Algonquin/Arlington Heights)

We hope you’ll join us for this outing~

Last Week’s PowerPoint (Week 2)

Check out the PowerPoint from last week! The slides with the latest JMAC announcements can be found online via dropbox~

In honor of Hayao Miyazaki’s birthday earlier this month, the slides are themed with Miyazaki movies. This week’s slides also feature a superhero manga featured as Manga of the (Half) Month as well as a music video from a group that featured during Re:Zero.

Have an awesome weekend!
