JMAC SQ Week 1: Spring Season Anime Panel and Little Witch Academia

Hiya JMACers,

How’s your spring break? Hope you’re having a fantastic Friday and hope you’ll have an awesome upcoming weekend~

Reminder: Public Relations Applications

If you’re interested in joining JMAC Board for and taking on a leadership position within the club during the 2016-2017 school year (aka JMAC Year 15), email us your application! From there, current JMAC board members will review the application. Further details about applying to Public Relations are included in the weekly powerpoint.

The deadline for emailing us PR applications is this Monday, March 27th, at 11:59pm.

Next Week’s Meeting: Spring Quarter Week 1

The start of the quarter is the perfect time to join us for a meeting! Stop on by at anytime on this Monday, March 27th from 4-9pm in room 314A of the Lincoln Park Student Center.

We’ll begin our meeting with our 4pm social hour! Get to know the upcoming seasonal shows with a panel all about spring’s ongoing anime broadcasts. Afterwards, join us for the weekly powerpoint, filled with the JMAC-related news and other announcements, at 5pm!

Our weekly showing will be Little Witch Academia. This anime series follows Atsuko Kagari, an ordinary girl who joins a prestigious school for young girls training to become witches. Though Atsuko struggles with her non-magical background, she discovers a magical relic left behind by an inspirational witch.

And finally, we will begin watching our new running series for the spring quarter, Nichijou (My Ordinary Life). This slice-of-life anime series follows the everyday lives of an ensemble of characters, including the energetic Yuko Aoi, the cheerful Mio Naganohara, the expressionless Mai Minakami, the robot Nano Shinonome, her eight-year-old creator the Professor, and a talking cat named Sakamoto.

Last Meeting’s Powerpoint (Winter Quarter Week 10)

The PowerPoint from the last meeting is uploaded online via dropbox for your viewing pleasure~ It’s themed with Hinamatsuri, a festival that took place earlier this month.

Also featured in the slides is a comedic/romantic school-life manga for the month of March and a music video that (due to Student Center wifi issues) was unable to be viewed during the actual JMAC meeting… so yeah… check out a link to that video in the powerpoint~

Stay swell,
Sara S.
