Good evening, JMACers!
I’m all ’bout that convention lyfe (for like, 2/52 weekends outta the year orz), and convention hype/crunch time is finally upon us. To all of those attending ACen, best of luck on any final preparations before the convention!
Friday Night Movie Night!
Just a reminder that tomorrow is JMAC’s Friday Night Movie Night for the spring quarter! We’ll be meeting tomorrow night, May 13th, in Arts & Letters room 103 from 6-10pm to watch Beautiful Dreamer and Perfect Blue. Though this event is (mostly) BYOB, we’ll be providing popcorn (and Green River) to enhance your viewing experience~
> Beautiful Dreamer (Urusei Yatsura) is an animated comedic, fantasy film. When students Tomoniki prepare for their school festival, the world begins to change and the next day never comes. As they find a way to address the problem, their beliefs of reality are challenged by the world of dreams.
> Perfect Blue is an animated horror-thriller film that follows Mima Kirigoe, a member of a Japanese pop-idol group that decides to retire from music and pursue a career in acting. When one of her fans stalks her, Mima breaks down and struggles to distinguish fantasy from reality.
The JMAC Auction
Friday, June 3rd is the annual JMAC Auction! This event is one of the most important events of the year, for it funds the Voice Actor Event and other club expenses. Join us to bid on awesome items and support your local Japanese media appreciation club in the process~
Though our time and location is TBA at the moment, we are taking donations for the auction! If you have anything you’d like to place for auction, contact us through email with (1) your name (2) the donated items and (3) the starting bid for each item.
