JMAC SQ Week 3: “Guess the Anime Opening” and Star Driver

S’up JMACers,

And so ends the 2nd week of the quarter; thus, we’re practically a quarter done with the quarter… hhehe.

A Few Reminders: Upcoming Events

Our first event for the spring quarter will be an outing to the Osaka Gardens (aka Garden of the Phoenix)! This Japan-inspired garden is located in the Jackson Park neighborhood of Chicago’s south side. More information about the garden’s incredible historic renovation can be found on the garden’s website.

This weather-pending JMAC outing is scheduled for next Friday, April 14th (Good Friday). Meet up at 11:00am in the DePaul Center on the Loop campus. We’ll leave at 11:30am and take CTA Bus #6 to the gardens.

Another event on the horizon is JMAC’s Friday Night Movie Night, scheduled for Friday, April 21st from 6-10pm in SAC room 254. We’ll be screening the movie Seven Samurai, an epic 1954 historical adventure drama film. Save the date for this event!

Next Week’s Meeting: Spring Quarter Week 3

Join us for a meeting this Monday, April 10th from 4-9pm in room 314A of the Lincoln Park Student Center. Our social hour will be checking out a variety of anime/music montages in a “Guess the Anime Opening” activity.

During next week’s 5pm powerpoint, we will formally announce the new JMAC Public Relations members for the 2017-18 school year.

Our weekly showing will be Star Driver (brought in by meeee). In this mecha series, the nefarious Glittering Crux Brigade seek to control Cybodies, stone giants that transform into fighting humanoids. However, “Galaxtic Pretty Boy” Takuto Tsunashi strives to stop the Glittering Crux Brigade from accomplishing their plans.

And finally, join us for our running series for the spring quarter Nichijou~

Last Week’s PowerPoint (Week 2)

Check out the powerpoint from last week via dropbox, which is themed with neat April Fool’s Day pranks!

This week’s slides also feature a new comedic/romantic/slice-of-life manga for the month of April and a super hero-themed music video from an pop idol group. :)

Have a splendid weekend!

JMAC Secretary
